Reference layer
DrawoverSince 1.0
Overview
A reference layer places any picture over the frame with its own opacity and transform box. It is the setup half of masking: get the reference in, scale it into place, then rub it away where the plate should win.
Layers stack in a panel with visibility, opacity and ordering, so several references can be judged against each other on one frame.
How to
- Open ▤ Layers and press 🖼 Reference.
- Pick an image. It lands centred and selected.
- Drag to move; drag the corner handle to scale.
- Lower its opacity, or mask it, to see how it sits against the plate.
Controls
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| opacity | Float | 10–100%. |
| rect | Box | Placement and scale on the frame. |
| mask | Paths | Erase and restore paths, applied in order. |
Known edges
The source image is never altered; masks are stored as paths beside it, so deleting the mask or the layer returns you to the original. Overlay files are removed from disk when the version they belong to is deleted.
