Overview
Breaks a matte's edge into an organic contour with fractal noise — torn, corroded or wind-wobbled instead of drawn. erode eats bites out of the edge; distort wobbles it without losing area. evolution animates it so it crawls rather than flickers, and the core stays solid.

Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| mode | Choice | erode | erode eats the edge inward by a noise pattern (a matte that reads as gnawed); distort pushes the edge in and out along the noise (a matte that reads as torn). erodedistort |
| amount | Float | 0.5 | Strength of the effect. 1 = as designed; 0 = none. |
| width_in | Float | 8.0 | How far inside the edge the roughening reaches, pixels. |
| width_out | Float | 8.0 | How far outside the edge it may push, pixels (distort mode grows the data window by this). |
| noise_size | Float | 24.0 | The noise's feature size in pixels — small is a fine fray, large is bites. |
| noise_detail | Float | 3.0 | Octaves of noise: 1 is smooth bites, 4 adds fine texture to their edges. |
| stretch | Float2 | [1.0, 1.0] | Stretch the noise along X and Y — 2,1 pulls the pattern horizontal, for grass or fur that lies a way. |
| evolution | Float | 0.0 | Animate the noise: the pattern changes with this value, so key it for an edge that boils. |
| seed | Float | 0.0 | The noise's seed — a different pattern with the same character. |
| preserve_core | Bool | true | Never eat into the matte's solid core, however wide the roughening: the effect stays at the edge. |
| disabled | Bool | false | Bypass: the node passes its first input through untouched (D in the graph). The knobs keep their values for when it comes back. |
| label | Text | A note shown under the node in the graph — what this node is FOR. Never affects the render or the cache. | |
| hide_input | Bool | false | Draw the node without its input wire — a tidy graph for a node whose source is obvious (a Dot, a viewer tap). |
