Retime

Transformv2coreNeeds full input

Overview

Speeds footage up or slows it down. Frame-blending optional.

How to

How-to

  1. Set speed (2 is twice as fast) and offset; pick filter (frame, blend, or flow) and quality.
  2. shutter adds motion blur on a flow retime.
  3. speed can be keyframed, and the keys are read as a rate: at 4 over frames 0-40 the source reaches frame 160, and a key of 1 from frame 40 on carries it from 160 one frame per frame, never a jump. Set the keys to constant interpolation in the curve editor for a hard change of speed, or leave them linear for a ramp.

Parameters

ParameterTypeDefaultWhat it does
speedFloat1.0Playback speed multiplier: 0.5 = half speed (slow motion), 2 = double.
offsetFloat0.0Source frames added after the speed remap — slides the retimed clip in time.
filterChoicenearestHow an in-between frame is made: nearest snaps to a source frame, blend cross-fades the two neighbours (ghosts on motion), flow warps both along the measured motion — the smooth slow-motion option. nearestblendflow
qualityChoicenormalHow hard the flow solver works: draft for a quick look, high for the final (more pyramid levels, a wider window, more refinement passes). draftnormalhigh
shutterFloat0.0Motion blur on the interpolated frame, as a fraction of a frame: 0 is a sharp frame at exactly the source time, 0.5 a half-frame shutter — what a camera would have recorded at the new speed.
disabledBoolfalseBypass: the node passes its first input through untouched (D in the graph). The knobs keep their values for when it comes back.
labelTextA note shown under the node in the graph — what this node is FOR. Never affects the render or the cache.
hide_inputBoolfalseDraw the node without its input wire — a tidy graph for a node whose source is obvious (a Dot, a viewer tap).
