Overview
The other doorway. Renders on a background thread through the same engine the farm runs, so what you saw is what lands on disk.
How to
- Set
filewith a####pattern for a sequence. - Pick the format and its options; EXR writes multipart and multilayer.
- Set the output transform — this is where display encoding goes on, and the only place it should.

| Input | What it takes |
|---|---|
| in | the image this node works on |

Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| file | Text | The file on disk — use #### for frame numbers in a sequence. | |
| colorspace | Choice | auto | How the file is encoded. 'auto' guesses from the file type (EXR = linear, 8-bit = sRGB); 'raw' passes the numbers through untouched; override if the plate was tagged wrong. autorawlinearsRGBRec.709 |
| raw | Bool | false | No color conversion at all — the file's numbers pass straight through (Read) or land in the file untouched (Write). Overrides the colorspace. Same as Nuke: for mattes, AOVs and data passes. |
| range_mode | Choice | global | What a render spans: the project range, this branch's own stream range (Input), or the custom first/last below. globalinputcustom |
| range_first | Int | 1 | With range_mode = custom: the first frame to render. |
| range_last | Int | 100 | With range_mode = custom: the last frame to render. |
| video_codec | Choice | h264 | Video files only. h264 = broadly playable review default; prores = ProRes 422 HQ interchange master; vp9 = web. Needs an ffmpeg (tools/ffmpeg/bin or FORGED_FFMPEG). h264proresvp9 |
| video_quality | Float | 18.0 | Video files only: the CRF. Lower is better/bigger - 18 is visually lossless h264; ignored for prores. |
| prores_profile | Choice | 422 hq | Which ProRes flavour a .mov delivery gets - proxy, LT, 422, 422 HQ (the interchange master) or 4444. proxylt422422 hq4444 |
| exr_datatype | Choice | auto | Bit depth written into an .exr: auto keeps each layer as rendered (half for colour, float for data passes), or force 16-bit half / 32-bit float for a delivery spec. auto16 bit half32 bit float |
| exr_compression | Choice | zip | EXR compression - all lossless: zip (16-line blocks, the interchange default), zip scanline, rle, or none. zipzip scanlinerlenone |
| jpeg_quality | Float | 95.0 | JPEG quality, 1-100. Ignored by PNG and the other lossless rasters. |
| disabled | Bool | false | Bypass: the node passes its first input through untouched (D in the graph). The knobs keep their values for when it comes back. |
| label | Text | A note shown under the node in the graph — what this node is FOR. Never affects the render or the cache. | |
| hide_input | Bool | false | Draw the node without its input wire — a tidy graph for a node whose source is obvious (a Dot, a viewer tap). |
